Have you ever wondered what it would be like at 285 meters high off the ground? Welcome to Melbourne Skydeck. It is Melbourne’s top spot!
Surrounded by floor to ceiling glass windows it is the perfect place to view some of Melbourne’s largest landmarks. Melbourne Skydeck not only gives you spectacular views, you can also enjoy a tour of our city’s building and landmarks. Mamma also loves the Skydeck Outdoor Terrace. An area that is open to the outside elements and enclosed by a wire grid, so don’t worry it’s super safe… just super windy!
There are lots of options to add on to your Skydeck experience. You can head out to The Edge - a glass cube that protrudes 3 metres out of a building carries up to 12 people before the frosted glass becomes clear and you can see though to the streets below. Yikes!! We braved it and turns out Mamma was more excited than scared. You can’t take your camera or your phone here, but you can purchase a family photo if you wish.
There’s also two separate VR experiences - the first is downstairs - Melbourne Skydeck Voyager™ Theatre is virtual reality experience with ‘pod’ chairs that take you on an immersive journey of discovery through 16 iconic Melbourne experiences (we haven’t done this just yet). And the second is a VR plank walk. You are ‘transported’ high above Melbourne where you try and keep your balance before ziplining through the parks and streets of the city.
The Skydeck has a licensed cafe with delicious coffee, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, sandwiches and muffins too so if all the sightseeing makes you snacky - you are sorted.
