museum at home winter 2020

The Museums Victoria team have pulled together their incredible recourses to bring Museum at Home back for our second round of restrictions. Although we can’t visit our buddies at the museums at the moment, the clever team at Museums Victoria has found a great way for us to continue our learning adventures, bringing all the experiences and experts to us in our homes. All three museums - Melbourne Museum, Immigration Museum and Scienceworks - have activities and portals into their incredible spaces with their own unique twists.

The Mammas loved building air canons, flying paper planes, drawing owls and experimenting with the concepts of floating earlier this year. This time around, we have had a quick play on the Museum website and are keen to try making slime, setting up bird feeders, cooking with galaxies and making cards for our loved ones, just to name a few. The Mammas will be road testing a few in between our school lessons and on the weekends and can’t wait to share with you all.

You can also join their learning program over Term 3 where they share weekly curriculum-aligned education resources via Museum at Home Learning, were the museums education experts have developed a range of science, humanities and STEM activities for teachers and students.

There is so much to explore online, follow them on their social channels to see what goes on behind the scenes. Oh, and it is worth subscribing to their email updates too - click here and scroll to the bottom.
