let's make slime - museum at home
/Mamma’s crew love a little messy play, especially when there is a little science behind it. We checked out the Museum at Home ideas from Museums Victoria and discovered the super cool Let’s Make Slime activity from Scienceworks collection. Mamma learnt that slime is a non-newtonian, or in simpler terms, a stir-thickening fluid. The harder you stir it, the thicker it gets. But get your fingers into it, and BAM! It’s icky, yucky and sticky.
The website takes you step by step through the instructions and explains the science behind this cool substance. Making slime was kinda messy but super easy. All you need is cornflower, water and food dye. The best part was, it kept this little miss occupied for ages.
Age suitability: This activity is perfect for kids 3 and up or at least when they know not to put everything in their mouths. And even if they do, all ingredients may not taste great together, but are perfectly fine to eat. Parent help will be needed to mix this stuff together.
