kusama @ ngv international

Summer is the perfect time to experience some amazing art folks - especially at the NGV!

Kusama is Australia’s largest ever exhibition of art running at the NGV. As part of the exhibition, you and your little ones can enjoy the special Kusama for Kids display, as well as a variety of free artwork on the ground level of NGV International, all created by the mastermind Yayoi Kusama.

Let’s chat about the AMAZING works of art first. Mamma and her little one love the Waterwall, a colourful water based surprise from Kusama, which is on display before you even step inside the NGV!

Your minis will be amazed by the Narcissus Garden, the first piece of art you see when you walk in, featuring more than a thousand silver balls covering the floor, which creates a magical garden inside the NGV. Wow!

One of our favourite features is the Dancing Pumpkin, a HUGE sculpture that is more than five metres high, made of bronze, and of course is covered in polka dots! It’s absolutely huge! Make sure you get some cute pics of the kiddos running around this piece!

There’s so many amazing rooms to explore of Kusama - all with her famous polka dot theme. You’ll be able to take so many cute photos of your kids exploring, finding their favourite sculpture or exhibit - colourful memories for you and the family for a lifetime!

Kusama For Kids is also fantastic. It features ‘The Obliteration Room’ which is one of the main centrepieces of this exhibition. You and your little ones will be invited to ‘obliterate’ the rooms by adding bright, colourful dots to the white furniture, objects and surfaces. How cool!

NGV is truly the place to be this summer holidays - check it out!
