khao soi, chinatown

Hot, creamy, soupy curry, soft hand-cut noodles, crunchy katsu with crispy noodles, lemon and pickles on the side. What is this seriously satisfying dish? It’s the viral hit khao soi at Chinatown restaurant Khao Soi.

The Khao Soi also comes in beef (slow cooked brisket) or seafood. It’s really spicy so not for Mamma’s kids. They love the katsu on it’s own with rice, or the soba noodle with yakitori chicken.

Here, the food comes out pretty fast, which is an important factor when dining with kids! A fully stocked bar means that the adults can have a cheeky drink while the kids enjoy a juice or soda.

The restaurant feels intimate and cosy with a few tables and bar seats when you walk in, but there’s plenty of seating with more tables and booths on the first floor.

Artfully decorated with textiles and antique decorative objects highlighting Thai culture, this is a wonderful eatery to dine in a relaxing atmosphere with loads of flavour packed dishes.

This is a MUST TRY when eating in Melbourne!
