beings @ ACMI, fed square

A new exhibition has taken hold at ACMI and it’s perfect for kids! Beings by Universal Everything has heaps of interactive elements as art imitates life.

Incredible moving images like furry giants, blobby shapes and strange plants mimic your movements when you stand in front of them. Sway, jump, twirl and reach your way through the digital art of this exhibition. Your movements bring these animations to life, so the bigger you go - the bigger THEY go!

The copy cat images are addictive and mesmerising, but the middle of the exhibition is for watching.

Grab a cosy beanbag and watch some of the Beings saunter, jog, and roll across a giant screen. What real life animals can you see in the digital animations? Mamma and crew spotted hairy rhino-looking creatures and a giant wombat-ish thing with a long snout and 6 legs!

Towards the end you will find a few tables fit for play for adults and kids alike. Mamma and the kids enjoyed creating some colourful creatures of our own on these light backed tables, with coloured perspex shapes to play with.

This is one thing that is sure to drag you out of the winter blues - head to Fed Square and play your way to some serious fun!
