The Youth myki Design Competition is back! Victorian kids aged 5 to 17 are invited to design the next Youth myki - The winning artwork will feature on the next batch of Youth myki cards - available for purchase online in January 2027. How cool is that?!

Whether your kiddo loves sketching, painting or creating digital art on their iPad, they can submit an original design that captures the creativity of young Victorians.

Download an entry form via engage.vic.gov.au/youthmyki
Create an original design (hand-drawn or digital)
Upload via the Engage Victoria website
Submit before 2 August 2026

You might have also heard that under 18s now travel free on all public transport with a Youth myki. Buy a Youth myki online at transport.vic.gov.au, or in person at staffed stations and selected retail outlets.

Contactless Payments and Youth myki
Transport Victoria has recently rolled out contactless payment options across the tram network and at train stations where myki is accepted.

Contactless payment is currently available for full fare customers only. Youth myki card holders should keep using their Youth myki for free travel.

If you do accidentally tap on with a phone or bank card, wait around 30 seconds and tap off with the same device so you are not charged. If you make a mistake and been incorrectly charged you can contact the Transport Victoria Contact Centre on 1800 800 007 to discuss reimbursement options.
