state library of victoria, swanston street, melbourne
/Have you been? You have probably walked past it a million times but have you actually been inside? It is worth it just to see the spectacular building and the dome and of course the books. Books as far as the eye can see!
Mamma says if you are in the city and want a break from the hustle and bustle pop in. Or make it your destination as there is plenty to see and do here for the kids.
Just a friendly Mamma reminder this is a public library so hanging out here is FREE and borrowing a book is well - also free! One more FUN FACT - This is the home of Ned Kelly’s Armour too! If you are Ned Kelly fan then you have to go and check out the Old Melbourne Gaol
Oh and there is also a whole children’s quarter here - we have another article all about that here as there is just so much to talk about - Children’s Quarter at the State Library Melbourne
This incredible library well and truly warrants a trip to the big smoke!

Mamma Special Mention:
Speaking of the cafe, Mr Tulk is a seriously cool space! (Spot the stripy umbrellas in the patio area). It’s licensed and has amazing coffee and food!
