polly woodside, south wharf
/Yo ho! Yo ho! It's a pirate's life for Mamma!
Every third Sunday of the month, the pirates of Polly Woodside invite you to join their crew for an action packed adventure! They run two 2.5hr sessions, morning and afternoon, and each include a variety of pirate led activities designed for kids over 3 years old.
There's decks to be scrubbed and treasure to find, but first you'll need to get your pirate name and tattoos!
Then once you're on board, you can ring the bell to warn the captain of oncoming dangers, ride the rope swing, have a go at steering the ship, explore the cabins and go below deck.
The activities onboard are guided by staff at set times, however some can be revisited throughout the session if your little pirate isn't too keen on waiting or having a go infront of everyone.
Back on the pier, you can learn more about the history of the Polly Woodside and walk through the moving wave tunnel, just try not to get sea sick! There's also colouring in, pirate hat making, noughts and crosses, and a pirate reading corner. Toilet facilities, tables and chairs and pram parking are found here too if needed.
You're encouraged to come dressed up in your pirate gear but no stress if you don't have any, there's costumes and hats to try on and borrow during the Fashions on the Plank show!
