children's quarter @ state library, swanston street

There is so much to see and do. There are craft stations, sensory toys, building blocks, costumes to dress up in, reading nooks, study spaces, a kitchen area, pram parking, access bathroom and family room and, of course, beautifully fresh BOOKS!!

If you go upstairs to level 3 there is a ‘Children’s Castle’ terrace level, overlooking the 2nd floor children’s space and Mamma spied HEAPS of Lego, desks and spaces for older kids to curl up with a good book! Public libraries are such an awesome, FREE resource for the public and Mamma says this one is like nothing you will have ever seen before! You could really spend a whole day here enjoying a story time, visiting the cafe, borrowing books and playing dress ups!

Speaking of the cafe, Mr Tulk is a seriously cool space! (Spot the stripy umbrellas in the patio area). It’s licensed and has amazing coffee and food!

This incredible library well and truly warrants a trip to the big smoke!
