Winter Holidays with PLAYBOUND in Melbourne
/Playbound! Where play, nature, science and imagination ignite
Playbound is a 16-day family festival taking over the City of Melbourne during the winter school holidays, from Saturday 5 July to Sunday 20 July. Designed for children aged 0 to 12, the program features a vibrant mix of performances, workshops, exhibitions, crafts and activities.
Playbound invites kids to explore play, nature, science and imagination through joyful, hands-on experiences. With fun at its core, the festival sparks curiosity, connection and wonder for families these school holidays - we have JUST a few of the programs below so click here for the FULL program
Dino Days at Melbourne Museum: invites your youngest dinosaur enthusiasts to explore all things dinosaur.
Dates: Every Wednesday
Time: 10am–2pm
Cost: Included with museum enter
From dino discos and dress-ups to story times and sensory soft play, it’s a dinosaur day out at Melbourne Museum.
Create your own book workshop An interactive workshop where kids will join a storytelling session and explore the Library before creating their very own book.
Age: 5 to 8
Location: State Library of Victoria, 328 Swanston St, Melbourne VIC 3000
Date/Time: Wednesday 9 July & Wednesday 16 July, 10:15 to 11:45am & 12:30pm to 2pm
Cost: $10 per participant, supervising adults attend for free.

Creative Lab – Bug Out: Kids can unleash their creativity by designing bug habitats with tunnels, leafy hideouts, and bustling bug communities. With plenty of fun activities, imaginations will run wild as these mini critters come to life.

Bila’s Big Dance: A Musical Storytime: Introduce your children to the magic of live music with Orchestra Victoria and The Wheeler Centre!
