Love live music and a good surprise? This one’s worth knowing about.

Always Live Melbourne, in partnership with the City of Melbourne, is hosting free secret live-music gigs around the Melbourne CBD across December and January, with pop-up shows on Saturdays and Sundays.

The catch? They don’t announce the artist or location until the morning of the gig.

Each pop-up set runs for around 40 minutes and features Australian artists — with past performances from names like Tex Perkins, Matt Walker and Playlunch making them a fun, free and an easy add-on to a day in the city.
