operator diner, lonsdale street

Operator Diner is super cool, retro-inspired addition to Wesley Place just off Lonsdale street. Located beside the serenity of the heritage-listed olive tree in Urban Park. Which Mamma found exceptionally handy when little Miss 8 needed to stretch her legs.

The decor has been designed with a sense of nostalgia. Promoting comfort, customers a offered a space in which they can visit at any time of the day and feel relaxed whilst having a good meal. There are tables, window benches and booths to choose from and with friendly staff, this place is great for a family visit.

The menu includes a simple and hearty all-day breakfast, served with good coffee. There are English muffins with sausage patties, scrambled egg and cheese which was Mamma’s go-to, hash browns, sandwiches and hotdogs. Not to mention their simple old-school eggs on toast with all the favourite sides. And Mamma’s biggest MUST, is great coffee.

The kids will also have something to choose from with everything on the menu reasonably priced PLUS, drum roll, please…. Pancakes! Little Miss 8 loved the simple three-stack pancakes served with butter and maple syrup. There are even a few salad options for those wanting something a little lighter.

Don’t be put off by waiting .. this place is totally worth it!

Mamma's special mention: The Chinese Museum is tucked amongst the bustling street of Chinatown and is filled with interesting facts and information. A great place for kids to learn about the culture.
